Roger
C. Malm is a 1974 graduate of the University
of North Dakota School of Law in Grand Forks,
North Dakota. After his graduation Roger
practiced law in Phoenix, Arizona, for six
years concentrating in the health care law
area. In 1980 Roger moved back to the Red
River Valley and joined the Brink, Sobolik
Law Firm.
During Roger’s first fifteen years
with the Brink, Sobolik Law Firm, he served
a multitude of individual and business
clients and handled civil litigation, including
appeals
from state and federal trial courts. His
work for clients in estate planning and
his handling of trust and probate matters
increased
during these first fifteen years.
In 1994 Roger was elected as Kittson County
Attorney. Since being first elected he
has stood for reelection three times and
has
been reelected three times. He is now in
his fourth term of office as Kittson County
Attorney. Upon assuming the responsibilities
as Kittson County Attorney, Roger’s
practice changed somewhat. The office of
Kittson County Attorney is a part time position
so Roger has continued in his practice with
the Brink, Sobolik Law Firm through to the
present time. Roger’s involvement
in civil litigation matters has decreased
because
of the time required in his work as Kittson
County Attorney. His work in business and
corporate matters as well as in estate
and trust administration has continued
and he
continues to help individuals, families
and businesses throughout the area.
Roger has served and currently serves on
several boards for non-profit organizations.
He has served as a member of the Board of
Governors for the State Bar of Minnesota
and in January 2007 the Minnesota Supreme
Court designated Roger to be a member of
the Judicial Selection Commission. Roger
is one of two attorneys selected from the
Ninth Judicial District to fulfill this responsibility.
Roger Malm attended high school in Fargo,
North Dakota. He has an undergraduate degree
from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota,
which he received in 1971. Roger received
his law degree in 1974.
