Roger C. Malm is a 1974 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law. Following graduation, Roger practiced law in Phoenix, AZ, for six years concentrating in the health care law area. In 1980 he moved back to the Red River Valley and joined Brink Lawyers, P.A.

During Roger’s first fifteen years with the firm, he served a multitude of individual and business clients and handled civil litigation, including appeals from state and federal trial courts. His work for clients in estate planning and his handling of trust and probate matters increased during these first fifteen years. In addition to his full-time private practice, Roger served as part-time Kittson County Attorney from 1994-2018.  He was reelected five times and ended his final term in 2018.

Roger has served on several boards for a variety of non-profit organizations. He has also served as a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Board of Governors, served as a member of the Judicial Selection Committee through which he was appointed by the Minnesota Supreme Court, and has served on number of other local and regional panels in connection with his work as an attorney. Roger attended high school in Fargo, ND, and earned his undergraduate degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN, in 1971.

Robert M. Albrecht has been practicing personal injury law throughout the Red River Valley since 1982. With over thirty-five years of experience, he has handled virtually every type of personal injury and wrongful death case including auto accidents, semi truck crashes, motorcycle and snowmobile cases, fire losses, farm machinery failures, construction injuries, dog bites, aviation accidents, boating crashes, and recreational injuries, among others. Bob began serving as the Kittson County Attorney in 2019.

Before shifting his practice toward elder law and estate matters, Jeff W. Hane had been primarily handling injury and accident cases since 1993. Jeff has handled many cases where his clients recovered sums in excess of six figures, including one case just under $500,000. He has also served as co-counsel in cases where our clients recovered verdicts near $1 million.

Jeff primarily serves clients with estate services, Medical Assistance (Medicaid) planning, and business needs. In addition to earning a law degree, Jeff holds post-law degree (LLM Elder Law) from the Center for Excellence at Stetson University’s College of Law. This makes Jeff familiar with topics such as retirement benefits, medical assistance, estate planning, special needs trusts, and legal issues for the aging. Jeff was appointed to the Minnesota Board of Aging by Gov. Mark Dayton and served from 2011 to 2017. In addition, Jeff serves as an Assistant County Attorney for Kittson County. He was awarded both The Order of the Coif and The Order of Barristers in 1993.

Jeff is Brink Lawyers primary attorney for water law, adoption matters, and construction law. He became a shareholder of the firm in 1998. Jeff and his wife are adoptive parents, having adopted their children from China in two separate adoptions. Jeff worked his way through college doing residential construction and framing. Contractors and homeowners appreciate the fact that Jeff understands the construction process (including finance), construction contracts, timetables, permits & inspections, construction regulations and lien laws. In his spare time, Jeff is an avid do-it-yourself-er. When not working on his house, Jeff loves to help friends and family on construction, remodeling, and salvage projects.

George received his J.D., with distinction, from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 2011 and is licensed to practice in the state of Minnesota and North Dakota. His undergraduate studies focused on agriculture, he earned a B.S. in Animal Science from Iowa State University. A lifelong resident of Kittson County, George was raised in Hallock, MN, and graduated from Kittson Central High School. He is active in a number of community organizations and has served on the Lancaster Public School Board and the Kittson County Economic Deveopment Authority. He is also a member of Lancaster Covenant Church.

Prior to law school, George worked for a large integrated livestock producer and on the family farm. He continues to farm on a small scale. Agriculture has always been a part of George's life and he understands the complex issues faced by farmers today. George is ready to assist clients in farmland sales and purchases, conservation reserve programs, wetland and drainage issues, farm leases, easement or zoning issues, agricultural estate planning, eminent domain, hunting leases, and mineral and wind power issues.

In addition to agriculture, George has broad experience in the greenhouse, nursery, and horticulture fields. He also has worked in manufacturing, government service contracting, and large-scale supply management. George and his wife, Heather, enjoy farming and raising their family on their homestead near the Canadian border in rural Lancaster, MN.

Denise A. Sollund was born in Wishek, ND, and attended school in Napoleon, ND. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education in 1998 from Minnesota State University – Moorhead. She went on to the University of North Dakota School of Law and received a Juris Doctorate in 2006. Denise is licensed in both Minnesota and North Dakota.

She focuses her practice largely in family law, including such matters as divorce, child custody, child support, maintenance (alimony), parenting time, paternity, and adoption. Due in part to her constant court obligations, Denise serves as the primary attorney at the firm’s Karlstad office, which is normally staffed on Mondays and Fridays.

In addition to her busy private practice, Denise also serves most of the counties in Northwestern Minnesota as a court-appointed parenting time expeditor, custody evaluator, and early neutral evaluator. She was approved as a qualified neutral under Minnesota Court Rule 114 in 2012. Prior to joining Brink Lawyers, Denise worked as a law clerk in the 9th Judicial District for the Honorable Donald J. Aandal. Denise and her family have lived in Northwestern Minnesota since 2006.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Denise taught high school English and creative writing in the public schools for five years. She is currently a member of the school board for Tri-County Schools of Karlstad.
