Denise A. Sollund was born in Wishek, ND, and attended school in Napoleon, ND. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education in 1998 from Minnesota State University – Moorhead. She went on to the University of North Dakota School of Law and received a Juris Doctorate in 2006. Denise is licensed in both Minnesota and North Dakota.
 

She focuses her practice largely in family law, including such matters as divorce, child custody, child support, maintenance (alimony), parenting time, paternity, and adoption. Due in part to her constant court obligations, Denise serves as the primary attorney at the firm’s Karlstad office, which is normally staffed on Mondays and Fridays.
 

In addition to her busy private practice, Denise also serves most of the counties in Northwest Minnesota as a court-appointed parenting time expeditor, custody evaluator, and early neutral evaluator. She was approved as a qualified neutral under Minnesota Court Rule 114 in 2012. Prior to joining Brink Lawyers, Denise worked as a law clerk in the 9th Judicial District for the Honorable Donald J. Aandal. Denise and her family have lived in Northwest Minnesota since 2006.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Denise taught high school English and creative writing in the public schools for five years. She is currently a member of the school board for Tri-County Schools of Karlstad.
