Minnesota State Bar Association, State Bar Association of North Dakota, and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys.

Before shifting his practice toward elder law and estate matters, Jeff W. Hane had been primarily handling injury and accident cases since 1993. Jeff has handled many cases where his clients recovered sums in excess of six figures, including one case just under $500,000. He has also served as co-counsel in cases where our clients recovered verdicts near $1 million.

Jeff primarily serves clients with estate services, Medical Assistance (Medicaid) planning, and business needs. In addition to earning a law degree, Jeff holds post-law degree (LLM Elder Law) from the Center for Excellence at Stetson University’s College of Law. This makes Jeff familiar with topics such as retirement benefits, medical assistance, estate planning, special needs trusts, and legal issues for the aging. Jeff was appointed to the Minnesota Board of Aging by Gov. Mark Dayton and served from 2011 to 2017. In addition, Jeff serves as an Assistant County Attorney for Kittson County. He was awarded both The Order of the Coif and The Order of Barristers in 1993.

Jeff is Brink Lawyers primary attorney for water law, adoption matters, and construction law. He became a shareholder of the firm in 1998. Jeff and his wife are adoptive parents, having adopted their children from China in two separate adoptions. Jeff worked his way through college doing residential construction and framing. Contractors and homeowners appreciate the fact that Jeff understands the construction process (including finance), construction contracts, timetables, permits & inspections, construction regulations and lien laws. In his spare time, Jeff is an avid do-it-yourself-er. When not working on his house, Jeff loves to help friends and family on construction, remodeling, and salvage projects.
